This world is full of people who will cheer you on, encourage you, and remind you of what you’re capable of. That’s a gift, and you should never take it for granted. But here’s something we’ve learned over the years: no amount of encouragement can replace your own desire to succeed.
People can believe in you all day long. They can push you, guide you, challenge you, and support you. But when the alarm goes off early, when the work gets repetitive, or when you’d rather quit than keep going, nobody is going to make that decision for you. At some point, you have to want it for yourself.
Find Your Reason
Working hard because someone else expects you to only lasts so long. Eventually, their expectations lose their influence, and you’re left with your own choices. That’s why it’s so important to figure out your reason.
Maybe you want to build a business that gives you more flexibility. Maybe you want to set an example for your kids. Or you might be chasing a vision that’s been sitting in your heart for years. Whatever it is, make sure it’s something that matters to you. A strong “why” gives you something to hold onto when the excitement wears off.
Decide Before It Gets Difficult

Here’s the thing about hard work: It always sounds easier than it is.
Some mornings, you’ll want to just stay in bed. There will be projects that take way longer than expected. And you’ll undoubtedly have setbacks that make you question whether it’s worth it.
That’s why the decision has to come before those moments show up. Decide now that you’ll give your best effort, be your best self, and keep going. Once you’ve made that commitment, it becomes much easier to continue moving when life gets challenging.
You Don’t Have to Do It Alone
One of the greatest blessings in life is having people who genuinely want to see you succeed. We’ve been incredibly fortunate to have friends, mentors, family members, and teammates who have encouraged us, challenged us, and reminded us to keep going when we needed it most.
If you’re reading this, we want you to know something: you’ve got people in your corner, too. Lean on them. Ask questions. Accept encouragement. Celebrate the wins together. Let others remind you of your potential on the days when you have trouble seeing it yourself.
Bring the Desire; You Already Have the Support

You’re surrounded by people who will always be happy to encourage you, celebrate your progress, and remind you to keep moving forward. That’s what a strong community does.
But the first step belongs to you.
Decide that you’re willing to put in the work because of the life you want to build, not because someone else expects it from you. Once that decision is made, you’ll discover something pretty incredible: You don’t have to walk the journey by yourself. Your team will be cheering you on every step of the way!
Oh yeah, one more thing. If you really want to move forward … start by putting others first!
